There are times when simply calling out a problem is no longer enough — you have to fix it. We believe we’re the people with the tools, the know-how and the strength to solve anything the world throws our way. This is the core idea behind AGP’s SOUL SESSIONS, an event-based platform and content series which pairs our community’s finest activist experts, with smart young minds and a fearless audience to come together and tackle the issues facing us all.

AGP’s SOUL SESSIONS is…a series of public salons and forums that takes place at and around our demographics and worldwide family. Here, audience members get informed by presentations and roundtable discussions featuring the brightest thinkers in a variety of fields, then leave our events armed with information to engage local and national issues. Past participants have included writer/professor/TV host/political commentator Melissa Harris-Perry, Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacy Abrams, ‘Insecure’ star Yvonne Orji, Georgetown Law professor Paul Butler, and Mary-Pat Hector, national youth director for the National Action Network, one of this country’s largest civil rights organizations.

AGP’s SOUL SESSIONS is…a podcast, co-produced by Tiwaworks and the Aaron Arnold. It features historical narratives and current events, the protagonists at the center of today’s biggest stories, and members of the AGP community looking to effect change after the music ends. Recording and surveying the AGP audience since 2004, these are the real, true and important dialogues taking place throughout the AGP diaspora, conversations with a purpose.

AGP’s SOUL SESSIONS is…a call to organize and get shit done. We’ve come a long way to counter the racism and systemic oppression that was constructed over generations; let’s commit to impact social change beyond our lifetime. We all know the problem – now let’s become part of the solution.
